Driving toward the Grand Canyon I asked, "So Peyton, how big do you think the Grand Canyon is?"
His reply, "I'm gonna say it's at least 200 feet across."
The "at least" saved him.
But it got me wondering how often I've made the same mistake as I traipse through life. Underestimating the depth and the breadth of the valley, foolishly expecting a little gully when it's canyon-sized.
And as I think that thought, this passage, one of the first I learned as a child, soothingly reminds me that come what may -- gully, valley or Grand Canyon -- I don't have to walk it alone.

Sometimes I think we put God in a box and limit him to only what our mind can conceive. I love the fact that He is so much bigger, grander and beyond any of our expectations!
ReplyDeleteGreat scripture and pic to go with it!
Praising Him for that! We don't ever, ever, ever have to walk alone. What an incredible comfort. Why should I ever fear? Thank you, dear, for linking up!!! :)
ReplyDeleteOoooh, very good. Underestimating the size and breadth of a valley. Like you say, we don't have to walk in the valley, whatever the size, alone.
ReplyDeleteGreat post
God bless
