This is a photo I took a few summers ago at Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. I do feel near to God in places like that. And I love the thought of him putting me in a cleft in the rock and covering me with his hand. The rock is not too hard for him. He will find the place where I can be sheltered, and he will provide the shelter himself, with his own hand. And when he does that, his glory passes by. I can't see his face. But I can feel his hand, and I can see his back once he has passed.

ReplyDeleteI love the story of the cleft in the rock how moses went to the mountain top to speak to God and God told him to take his sandles off for the ground in which you stand on is holy...and because of God's holiness and glory Moses had to turn in bow for the glory would of killed him had He seen God in His glory..it's that cleft rock which you and I can go to meet God and to hide when we need to. Great post and lovely photo
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love what you've written here!
ReplyDeleteDo you know how much my heart jumps when I see you have linked up. It must still have to do with the desert and the thirst and the living water. I'm thankful for your shelter and for your glimpse of Him...
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love that passage, and your photo is astounding. I remember reading those verses earlier this year and thinking, yes, God finds even the smallest space in hard place to love and protect us.
ReplyDeleteAs I have been thankful for your shelter, Jen. Your care means much more than you can imagine!
ReplyDeleteYes...the taking off his sandals. I don't know that I take off my sandals often enough, recognizing the holy places when I find myself in them. Thanks for that thought, Desiray!
